EVER again.
We recently moved from a house to an apartment (all part of our "downsizing to save for two yrs in order to BUY a house plan), and it was TORTURE. I hate how you think you've packed everything (or at least had a good start), only to discover that you really haven't packed anything at all. All the "little things" you think will be so easy to pack when the time comes... yeah, RIGHT.
So we continued to pack on Friday (May 30th) after I got home from work. (Well, first we went to the Brittanie's softball game...it was the playoffs). The hubby and I were up until 3AM packing, patching small drywall imperfections, painting cabinets, cleaning, packing some more.
SO....utterly exhausted, we fell asleep on the hard floor. Then up again at 7AM to get the UHaul, finish packing, de-junking, and MORE de-junking. We picked up Bryant, (Hubby's oh-so-annoying friend), and he helped him load everything to the dump, where we ended up paying $42 for over a ton of trash. Niiiiiiiiiiice. Then more loading, packing, cleaning, on and on and on until I thought I would go MAD from the insanity of it all.
Again, we fell asleep after a long, cruel day of hard labor and minor irritations. Not to mention we had to hurry so my landlord's sister could move in....WHILE we were moving out!! Niiiice.
Sunday, June 1st, we MOVED. It was another gruelling day, full of us snapping at each other and frustrations and exhaustion. We moved into the apt., got a storage, moved our misc stuff there, and then did a half a**ed job of cleaning. Only to discover days later that she didn't even move in that day...or the next.....or the next day after that! WhateveR...
The only PLUS side....we seriously didnt have to worry about the kids. Donovan was with my AWESOME sis-in-law and mother-in-law, (WHAT we would do without them, I DONT KNOW!) and the older kids were with my mom (also awesome! Since the kids were SICK all weekend). Not having to worry about them was a HUGE deal too.
Our apt. is nice, tho. 2 bd/2bth with a nice, open floorplan, about 910 sq. feet. We got a good deal on rent and it'll be nice to actually save money instead of spend it. Our electric bill at the house was up to $398 last July. YIKES.So there you have it. Our moving experience from H3LL. OH...Did I mention the older kids had the flu and were sick all weekend long??? Reeeeeal Niiiiiiiice. Nessa girl has a respiratory and sinus infection, as well as a torturous rash that gets bad when she gets hot (but is finally clearing up). Nathan just had a temp 24 hr bug or something. He's fine now.
Well, that's it for now folks! Signing off as an official De La Rosa (as of Tuesday...Yay!!)
~Rach~
